Government of Canada supports important water infrastructure upgrades in Eel River Crossing and Balmoral through the Small Communities Fund
The Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development and Member of Parliament for MadawaskaÂ–Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announced $99,981 in federal funding for drinking water system upgrades in Eel River Crossing, and $336,223 for storm sewer upgrades in Balmoral. Minister Valcourt was joined by Gilles LePage, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Restigouche West, Denis Savoie, Mayor of Eel River Crossing, and Charles Bernard, Mayor of Balmoral.
NEB approves Quicksilver's export licence
The National Energy Board (NEB) has approved the application of Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. (Quicksilver) for a 25 year natural gas export licence with a maximum term quantity of 733 billion cubic metres. The issuance of this licence is subject to the approval of the Governor in Council.
